Scott is a renowned specialist in Insolvency and Reconstruction and Commercial Dispute Resolution.  In addition, he has academic qualifications in and advises on trade practices law.

Scott is regularly ranked by his peers and industry professionals as one of Australia's leading insolvency and reconstruction lawyers.  He is currently ranked as such in Chambers Global, Australia's Best Lawyers and The Asia Pacific Legal 500.

Scott is a former chairman of the New South Wales sub-committee of the Insolvency and Reconstruction Committee of the Law Council of Australia. 

He also specialises in commercial dispute resolution and has conducted substantial litigation in the New South Wales Supreme Court, the Queensland Supreme Court, the Victorian Supreme Court, the Federal Court of Australia and the High Court of Australia.  He regularly advises on restructures, and when necessary, enforces securities on behalf of financial institutions and lending syndicates.

A trained mediator, Scott has acted for parties in many complex commercial mediations and expert determinations. 

He numbers amongst his clients most of the leading firms of insolvency practitioners in Australia, a number of large Australian and US based banks and financial institutions, one of Australia's largest telecommunications providers and several significant construction and property development companies.

Scott has a particular specialisation in advising directors of both publicly listed and private companies when those companies are facing solvency issues or restructuring debt.

Scott sits on ASIC's" Insolvency Profession Liaison Committee" and is a member of the Insolvency and Reconstruction Sub-Committee of the Law Council of Australia.
